18+Responsible Gaming Policy
bet7k is entertainment, not a way to make money and not a way to solve financial problems. This page explains the financial and emotional risks of betting, how to recognise when play is becoming a problem, the exact steps to limit or stop your play, and where to seek free, confidential and independent help in Nigeria.
Betting on bet7k is strictly for persons aged 18 and over. We verify the age and identity of every customer, and any account found to belong to a person under 18 is closed and all stakes are refunded.

The risks of play
Every bet placed on bet7k carries the risk of losing the money you stake. Please read and understand the following before you play.
How the odds work
Betting is not a fair exchange in which you are as likely to win as to lose. Every market and every casino game is priced so that the operator retains a margin on the total amount staked. This margin is built into the odds themselves. It means that:
- The longer and the more often you play, the more likely you are to lose money overall.
- No system, tipster, statistic or sequence of past results can change this. Past results do not predict future outcomes, and each event is independent of the last.
- A winning streak does not mean you have found an edge. Over time, results move towards the mathematical expectation, which is a loss for the player.
- There is no strategy that turns betting into a reliable source of income.
Financial risks
- You can lose all of the money you deposit. Losses are real, are not recoverable, and cannot be reversed or refunded.
- Betting must never be used to pay bills, rent, school fees, debts or living costs, or to recover money already lost.
- Never borrow money to bet. This includes loan apps, salary advances, credit from friends or family, and money borrowed without the lender knowing what it is for.
- Never stake money set aside for rent, food, school fees, medical costs, transport or family obligations.
- Only stake money you can comfortably afford to lose entirely without it affecting your life.
- Chasing losses — betting again to win back what you have already lost — is the single most common route to serious financial harm. Losses grow faster than most people expect.
- Gambling debt tends to be hidden, which delays help and makes the eventual harm worse.
Emotional and psychological risks
The harm caused by gambling is not only financial. Problem gambling is recognised as a behavioural addiction, and it affects mood, judgement and health.
- Loss of control. Betting can stop feeling like a choice. Many people continue after they have decided to stop, and feel unable to explain why.
- Anxiety and stress. Worry about money, about hiding losses, and about the next bet can become constant.
- Depression and low self-worth. Guilt and shame after betting are common, and they deepen with repeated losses.
- Irritability and restlessness. Trying to cut down or stop often produces agitation, poor sleep and difficulty concentrating.
- Impaired judgement. Betting while upset, angry, bored, lonely, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs leads to larger stakes and worse decisions.
- Damage to relationships. Secrecy, broken promises and borrowed money damage trust with partners, family, friends and colleagues.
- Harm to work, study and health. Missed commitments, poor performance, neglected health and disturbed sleep are common consequences.
If any of this is familiar, the helplines listed above are free, confidential, and available to anyone in Nigeria.
Signs of addiction
How problem gambling develops
Problem gambling rarely begins as a crisis. It usually develops gradually, and the early stages feel harmless:
- Recreational play. Betting is occasional, budgeted, and enjoyed for its own sake.
- Escalation. Stakes and frequency rise. A win is remembered vividly; losses are minimised or forgotten.
- Chasing. Betting continues in order to recover losses. Budgets are exceeded. Money starts to come from elsewhere.
- Concealment. Betting is hidden. Amounts are understated to family and friends. Borrowing begins.
- Loss of control. Attempts to stop fail. Betting continues despite clear harm to finances, relationships and health.
The earlier this is recognised, the easier it is to reverse. Help at any stage is free and confidential.
Self-assessment: ten questions
Answer honestly. If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, we encourage you to use the control tools described below and to contact one of the independent organisations listed on this page.
- Do you think about betting constantly, or plan your day around it?
- Do you bet more money, or more often, than you intended?
- Do you bet again in order to win back money you have lost?
- Have you borrowed money, sold belongings, or used money meant for bills or family in order to bet?
- Do you hide your betting, or understate it to family, friends or colleagues?
- Have you missed work, school or family commitments because of betting?
- Do you feel restless, irritable or anxious when you try to cut down or stop?
- Do you feel guilty, ashamed or depressed after betting?
- Has anyone close to you expressed concern about your betting?
- Have you thought your life would be better if you stopped betting, but found you could not stop?
If you answered yes to any question
- Set a deposit, loss or stake limit today, using the steps below. A limit takes effect immediately.
- If a limit is not enough, take a time-out, or self-exclude.
- Call the Gamble Alert 24/7 helpline on +234 916 295 7989. The call is free and confidential, and you do not have to give your name.
- Tell someone you trust. Secrecy is what allows gambling harm to grow.
Recognising the signs in someone else
Warning signs in a family member, partner or friend include: unexplained shortage of money or borrowing; secrecy about their phone; withdrawal from family life; mood swings tied to sporting results; missed commitments; and selling or pawning belongings. The helplines listed on this page also support affected family members, not only the person betting.
Self-exclusion and self-imposed limits
Every registered bet7k customer can limit or stop their own play at any time. All of the tools below are found in one place: My Account → Responsible Gaming.
How to set a limit — step by step
- Log in to your bet7k account.
- Open the account menu and select My Account.
- Select Responsible Gaming.
- Choose the limit you want to set: Deposit limit, Loss limit, Stake limit or Session reminder.
- Enter the amount and the period (per day, per week or per month).
- Select Confirm. The limit is active immediately.
Important: a limit takes effect immediately when you set it or reduce it. A request to increase or remove a limit is only applied after a cooling-off period of 24 hours, so that the decision is never made in the moment.
The limits available are:
- Deposit limit — caps the total amount you can deposit per day, week or month. Once reached, no further deposits are accepted until the period resets.
- Loss limit — caps the net amount you can lose over a chosen period.
- Stake limit — caps the maximum amount you can stake on a single bet.
- Session reminder — an on-screen reminder of how long you have been playing and how much you have staked, at an interval you choose.
How to take a time-out (short break) — step by step
- Log in and go to My Account → Responsible Gaming.
- Select Time-out.
- Choose a period: 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or 6 weeks.
- Select Confirm. Your account is suspended immediately.
During a time-out you cannot deposit or place bets, and you will receive no marketing. Your account reopens automatically when the period ends.
How to self-exclude — step by step
Self-exclusion closes your access to bet7k for a fixed minimum period. It cannot be cancelled or reversed once activated.
- Log in to your bet7k account.
- Go to My Account → Responsible Gaming.
- Select Self-exclusion.
- Choose a period: 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, or permanent.
- Read the confirmation notice, then select Confirm.
- Your account is blocked immediately and you are logged out.
If you cannot access your account
You do not have to do this yourself. We will apply the exclusion for you:
- Send an email from your registered address to support@bet7k.ng stating the period you want, or
- Call +234 814 305 4692, or
- Ask any agent on live chat, available 24 hours a day.
We will confirm the exclusion in writing and apply it the same day.
What happens after you self-exclude
- Your account is closed to deposits and betting for the whole period you selected.
- Any remaining balance is withdrawn to you, minus any pending settlement.
- You are removed from all marketing lists — email, SMS and push notifications.
- We will not reopen the account before the period ends, even if you ask us to.
- At the end of the period, reactivation is not automatic. You must contact support and complete a further 24-hour cooling-off period.
- Do not attempt to open a new account under another name, email address or phone number. Any duplicate account found during an exclusion will be closed and the balance returned.
Blocking gambling on your devices
Self-exclusion from bet7k does not block other gambling sites. To block gambling content across all your devices:
- Install blocking software such as Gamban or BetBlocker, which is free.
- Enable parental or content controls on your phone, computer and home router.
- Ask your bank whether it can block gambling transactions on your card or account. Many Nigerian banks offer this.
- Ask someone you trust to hold your payment cards.

Help is free, confidential and available to anyone in Nigeria. You do not need to give your name, and you do not need to have a diagnosis or a crisis to call.
